Why do men in realtionships cheat?

Hi all. Prompted by another question about what her cheating husband was feelling when he cheated on her - to ask - why do men cheat on their wives / girlfriends. Is it true that you only do it becuase you are "unhappy" in the relationship? one word / sentence answers are fine. thanksAwesome. So interesting to hear the range of opinions.

Because men always think the grass is greener on the other side. They do it because they want sex, sex and more sex...and if they aren't getting enough to satisfy their needs at home, they'll find it elsewhere.

boredom, poor moral character, bad sex life the list goes on and on for man to cheat. Bottom line any excuse can be used for a man. My favorite is what i was drunk lol

Simply put, all people have thoughts about other people whether married or not. The problem is some people are gutsy enough to act on those impulses. Some guys/girls do it just so they can 'experience' something different. Some people get a sick thrill out of seeing if they get caught. Depends on the person. Overall, if someones being unfaithful, its time to move on.

It's not just men, is it. PEOPLE cheat because the relationship at home etc is going flat.

at some point where the relationship has been the same over a period of time, its only natural that human beings wonder off for better things to do. its not necessarly becasue we're "unhappy" but i think that "tired of the same thing" would be a better term

Sometimes because they are unhappy , sometimes because simply they feel a certain thrill in doing so , and many times it's because when they get into a relationship only then they start noticing that there are more fish then when they were singles wich is kinda a tentation . And peoples who cheats shouldn't be in a relationship , there are peoples out there who are *open* to many partenair so why go and get hooked with someones who want something serious and ending breaking hearts and getting the sign of *Cheater* .

Mostly the marriages which is done by force will caues such things..And most of the times this happens because there is no true love, but they have married in fancy,,, their marriage is actuallly cheating.Most men cheat because of women's betryal.. Beleive me honey..

No I think it is just human nature. Men were designed to roam and impregnate just as gorillas, chimps, lions etc. Not to make it sound like an evolution debate but lets be honest, we didn't become the most populated species on the planet by sticking with one partner. It's in our DNA to roam. Men are attracted by visuals. They look, like and well just are driven to go for it. It's not so much they don't want to be with the woman they are with. But the sight of a beautiful woman can be intoxicating and you really don't think about things until its over.

unhappiness could be a reason.. then sometimes men are going through some sort of mid-life crisis.. they feel they need to cheat in order to prove that 'they still have it'

you don not have to be unhappy to cheat, just stupid! There are many reason why both sexes cheat. We can literally list them all day but You just need to have the moral fiber to resist the urge when you are in a relationship! And it isn't because we think the grass is greener on the other side!

Lack of adequate joy from the relationship.Entering into a relationship with the wrong person and finding out too late that it's not going to work very well without putting more energy into it than you have to give.Finding out that your partner doesn't have the energy or desire to keep enough life in your relationship to keep it desirable to remain in. In other words, they are an emotional freeloader taking and taking but giving very little.Best Wishes.
