With Divorce so one-sided, why should a man married?

The man really has nothing to gain from in getting marriage. I don't care how much money a guy has he should sign a pre-nup. The divorce is a win win for the woman. It seems like at a whim a woman could cheat on her husband, divorce him and still get half his money.

i believe prenups are important for men that go into a marriage with say, $200,000 in the bank, has a 401k, a house and/or multiple cars.It would not be beneficial for a man that has none of this & decides to get a prenup, because really he has nothing to 'secure'. Once you get married, everything from that point on is community property. It depends on the person's situation. For me, I have money invested in stocks, have a good savings, my own truck, etc. I'm not married, nor am I going to do that anytime soon, but when the times comes, I am going to get one to secure my $$ I had prior to the marriage & so if something fails, I still get to keep my stuff.

its very true. men have the bad deal when it comes to marriage, but look at it this way you would want to spend the rest of your life with someone you love with all your heart and you would want her to take your name and bear your children right? but if divorce is inevitable, look at it this way its her compensation for washing your clothes cleaning your house and making the whole family dinner and trying to have a job just like you but come home and take care of the whole family with no thanks what so ever

Amen Brother! Marriages last in only 43% of cases and of those a bunch of them are crappy hateful marriages that stay together for dumb reasons. Divorce is a nightmare. People say you don't go into marriage expecting a divorce. You'd have to be an idiot not to take the fact into account that it has a good chance of happening anyway.

My husband is here in the room with me. He's not one to write on a computer, but he says to tell you that men have a lot to gain from a marriage. When you are married you know a woman loves you and only you. You know she has made a commitment to try to work on the marriage to stay married to you forever. You know your children have a father and a mother living in the house together as a happy, COMMITTED, family. Yes, women cheat on husbands occasionally, but more men cheat on their wives (Luckily that hasn't happened to us, but it happens.) A pre-nup is a great idea for the person who earns the most (in our marriage that has sometimes been me and sometimes my hubby since we are both professionals), but we never got one because we knew we wanted to SHARE everything in life...including the risks. You need a change of attitude. Divorce is never a win for anyone. Usually women's income is much lower than a man's after a divorce. Statitics show that married men are more content, healthier, and live longer than single guys. Look it up; it's true. Married women have shorter lives and they are more sickly than single women. (another fact; look it up). So, married men benefit most in life.

Please, are we feeling sorry for ourselves. Obviously you have not read what some women have endured by the hands of men. So it's OK to have children by a man and when he gets tired of you and his family he can just walk away. If he is man enough to lay with her then he is man enough to face the consequences.
