About 8 years ago I contracted chlamydia from a boyfriend who was being unfaithful. I was treated and have been fine ever since. Last year I had a baby and again was tested while I was pregnant and everything was fine. I am married and have been with the same partner for over 3 years now but we have been seperated for several months and have not had sex since then. I was having some really bad abdominal pain and found out the I had bacterial vaginosis and chlamydia. I have not been with anyone else and my husband is stating the same thing. He went to a clinic and was tested as well and was told that he does not have a bacterial infection so he only has a 10% chance of actually having the STD. How is this possible, as stated he was THEE only person I have been with for years now. I am thinking that either he has it, he was treated for it unbeknownst to me, or could it have layed dormant all of these years? Please help my marriage is on the line.

Not if you were taking proper antibiotics and other medication for it. Consult your physician.

If you finished the treatment 8 years ago, on schedule like the dr. prescribed, then you don't have it, UNLESS he was being unfaithful and gave it to you again.

well im not sure weather chlamydia lies dormant or not. but it is a possability that your husband wasnt exactly faithful. knowing that you had it before in your life he probably contracted it from someone, gave it to you, and then when you were showing signs of it he blamed it on you to hide his cheating... just a posibility..

The same kind of thing happened to a friend of mine, it almost broke up her marriage. She had chlamydia years ago and has been married for about 2 years, and swears she was never unfaithful and I do believe her. Anyway her husband went in for a checkup and they told him he had it again, after he was treated years ago. He blamed her said she was having an affair and almost left her because of it. Her doctor told her that once infected you can get it again. I would definately ask your doctor, don't jump to conclusions, it may be possible that you were both faithful.
